From devotion to dance, Aabahan 2025 was a celebration of culture, creativity, and community — brought to life by the people of HM World City.
Aabahan is a heartfelt community celebration welcoming Durga Pujo and Dussehra to the heart of HM World City.
Brought to life by the passion of residents and volunteers, Aabahan reflects a shared desire to create more than just a puja — it is a true community festival. The introduction to Aabahan was presented through a special dance performance by the children of our volunteers, who beautifully depicted Goddess Durga and the timeless message of the victory of good over evil — a theme that connects both Durga Pujo and Dasara.
More than rituals and performances, Aabahan is about people. It is about families and neighbours coming together, cultures meeting with warmth and respect, and creating shared moments of joy and belonging.
As young voices and small footsteps brought the story of Aabahan to life, they reminded us that this celebration is rooted in togetherness — nurturing community bonds and passing on cherished traditions to the next generation.
Swarang celebrated the artistic talents of HM World City residents with vibrant cultural performances across music and dance. The evening came alive with a rich tapestry of classical, folk, and contemporary expressions, each performance a testament to the creative spirit of the community.
From young performers taking the stage for the first time to seasoned artists enthralling the audience, Swarang was a true showcase of the depth of talent that resides within HM World City.
Chitrarpan brought together artists of all ages in an art competition that showcased creativity and cultural expression. Participants explored themes rooted in Durga Pujo and Dasara traditions, creating works that were as diverse as the community itself.
The exhibition of entries turned the festival space into a vibrant gallery — a celebration of imagination, heritage, and the artistic voice of every generation at HM World City.
Bhakti Sanje was a soulful evening of bhajans by the residents of HM World City, creating an atmosphere of devotion and togetherness. As voices rose in prayer and song, the entire gathering was transported into a space of peace and spiritual connection.
This deeply moving evening reminded everyone of the heart of Aabahan — not just the celebrations, but the sincere devotion and faith that unites the community before Maa Durga.
Echoes and Embers featured the traditional dhunuchi dance and shankh blowing, offering a powerful and rhythmic expression of devotion before Maa Durga. The smoky incense, the beat of the dhak, and the resonant blowing of conch shells created an atmosphere that was both primal and transcendent.
This event captured the raw, elemental spirit of Durga Pujo — a moment where tradition speaks louder than words, and devotion is expressed through the body, breath, and fire.
Garba Glow lit up the celebration with energetic dandiya and garba, inviting everyone to dance together in festive spirit. The rhythmic clatter of dandiya sticks, the swirl of colourful attire, and the infectious energy of the music made this one of the most joyful evenings of Aabahan 2025.
True to the inclusive spirit of Aabahan, Garba Glow welcomed everyone — beginners and seasoned dancers alike — to step onto the dance floor and celebrate Dasara with joy and colour.
Sindoor Khela & Visarjan marked an emotional farewell to Maa Durga with vermillion play and prayers, as the community came together to bid her goodbye until next year. Women applied sindoor to each other and to the idol in a deeply personal ritual, their faces reflecting both joy and the bittersweet sadness of parting.
As the idol was taken for Visarjan, the air was filled with the sound of ululation and the chant of "Asche bochor abar hobe" — she will come again next year. A promise, a prayer, and a moment that lingers in the heart long after the festival ends.
The next celebration is around the corner — stay connected and join us
